THE YOGA SUTRAS OF PATANJALI

The Yoga Sutras are a text that was compiled by Patanjali around 400 BCE. This is the way that nearly everything we know about yoga has been preserved and passed down. The Yoga Sutras are an example of how yoga’s teachings were recorded. Yoga Sutras can be thought of as an instruction manual for mastering our minds and our lives.

  • A deep dive into each of the sutras

  • Use various breath practices to attune our minds to study and gradually develop our practice

  • Much of the subject matter of the Yoga Sutras is meditation. We’ll do several meditations throughout to apply some of the instructions.

  • Fully comprehend the information through Sankalpa

  • Make a commitment to yourself to be as fully engaged and absorbed — mentally, physically, emotionally — in everything you do
